I am currently working with Citizens Bank, as well as the United States Department of Homeland Security, on the S.A.V.E. (Stop ATM Violence Everywhere) Code. How it would work: The S.A.V.E. Code is an ATM passcode that is linked to an account in addition to the primary passcode. If the ATM user is ever in danger or under duress, the user enters the S.A.V.E. Code, and the financial institution and the police are immediately notified. The location as well as the live footage of the surveillance cameras are shared and the amount of withdrawl is limited. Law enforcement can gather information that allows for an instant BOLO (Be On The Lookout) alert to be shared with surrounding areas. Typically the kidnapper takes the victim to additional ATMs to attempt more withdrawls. This allows law enforcement to track the crime in real time and be alerted to every new location as it happens giving police a quicker response time.
